Angry Bambi: Tourists teasing deer for Instagram selfies attacked in record numbers in Japan

Hordes of tourists are ruining one of Japan’s most famous tourist attractions and are increasingly getting injured as they harass wild deer for selfies, according to local authorities.

More than 80 per cent of those are tourists, with many reportedly injured while attempting to take selfies with the deer by teasing the animals with food, and in some cases — trying to sit on and ride the deer.

    1. Hello there! Thank you for your comment. And yes, I agree with you; there are signs posted everywhere in the park and if you travel there by tour bus, they will tell you also. I’ve been there and the deers, if they know you have food are pretty insistent! 🙂

      1. To Nara yes many times, this summer will be my 25th trop to Japan. I always go to Kyoto but not always Nara though I went there for the Daibutsu and summer light festival. Over the years I’ve seen more posters in English about being careful with the deers but people want their selfies and animals are not toys.
